One of the highly probable conclusions of the proposed new railway feasibility study could well be that it will not be practical to feed an additional train service into the existing timetables, especially if the new town fails to generate sufficient passenger traffic levels. The fall-back scenario from this would be a shuttle service to either Bentley, Liss or Liphook ( as per the existing bus service ) If the EHDC are determined to spend some money on this project then the most sensible solution would be to replace the bus service with a Rapid Transit System (possibly driver-less) across to Liphook. This would also be highly flexible regarding frequency of service throughout the day.
